Clarity Continued™

Your Best Vision Doesn't End with Surgery

At Desert Vision Center, cataract surgery is only one step in restoring your vision. As your eyes heal, small refinements can make everyday life even more comfortable.

CLARITY CONTINUED™

Because Great Outcomes Deserve Great Follow-Up

When you choose Dr. Tokuhara as your surgeon, he remains your doctor for life-continuing to guide your vision after surgery so your care does not simply end when the procedure is done.

Why You’re Having Another Vision Check

Even after a perfectly successful cataract surgery, your eyes continue to heal during the first several weeks. We perform a refraction to see how your eyes are focusing and whether there are opportunities to further refine your vision.

  • Could a small prescription improve your vision?
  • Has healing affected your vision?
  • Would another lens or treatment option improve comfort or clarity?
  • Are there additional treatments that could help you see even better?
  • Are your vision goals being met?

Every Opportunity to Improve Your Vision

Many patients achieve excellent vision without glasses. Others find that carefully selected prescription lens options can provide:

  • Sharper distance vision
  • More comfortable reading
  • Reduced glare while driving
  • Better computer vision
  • Less eye strain and improved depth perception

For qualifying patients, Dr. Tokuhara may also recommend additional options such as RevitalVision®, an FDA-cleared vision training program that can further improve visual performance after cataract surgery. When appropriate, Desert Vision Center provides RevitalVision to qualifying patients at no cost because we believe every reasonable opportunity to improve your vision should be explored.

Ongoing Medical Care

Dry eye and the ocular surface can play a major role in how clearly and comfortably you see after surgery. If either is affecting your vision, Dr. Tokuhara will continue working with you to determine the best path forward. Our commitment is to your long-term vision, not simply completing your surgery.

When you choose Dr. Tokuhara as your surgeon, he remains your doctor for life. Many practices consider care complete once surgery is finished or transition patients back to another provider. At Desert Vision Center, your long-term postoperative care and vision refinement remain physician-led.

If You’d Like to Explore Your Options

If today’s examination shows that prescription lenses or another vision-refining option could further improve your vision, your Technologist may introduce you to Tom, our Licensed Optician and Optical Expert. Tom works closely with Dr. Tokuhara to help patients select the lens design and prescription options best suited to their vision, lifestyle, and daily activities.

Whether the next step is prescription lenses, dry eye treatment, RevitalVision®, or continued postoperative care, our goal is the same: helping you enjoy the best vision possible.

The Clarity Continued™ Promise

  • Your care doesn't end after surgery.
  • Your questions deserve answers.
  • Your vision deserves refinement.
  • Your lifestyle matters.
  • We'll continue working with you until we've helped you achieve the best vision possible.

The Desert Vision Difference

Many cataract practices consider your care complete after surgery. We don't.

Excellent cataract surgery should be followed by thoughtful postoperative care, personalized vision refinement, and ongoing support-because seeing your best is about more than the operation itself.

Whether your next step is prescription lenses, RevitalVision®, dry eye or ocular surface treatment, or simply the reassurance that you're seeing as well as possible, we'll help you understand your options and choose what's right for you.

Attention Patients

Dear Valued Patients of Desert Vision Center,

Dr. Tokuhara is a highly skilled cataract surgeon, specializing in advanced anterior segment surgeries, including complex glaucoma and cataract procedures. He focuses on patients who need surgical intervention or are at risk of severe vision loss.

While Dr. Tokuhara offers comprehensive eye care for his own surgical patients, he does not provide general eye care or post-operative care for patients of other surgeons. When you choose Dr. Tokuhara, he becomes your trusted eye doctor for life.

A Note About Ethical Care

In our community, some providers engage in illegal financial kickbacks, accepting payments for cataract surgery referrals. Desert Vision Center firmly rejects this unethical practice. We follow the highest ethical standards, complying with the Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law, ensuring that your care is never influenced by financial incentives.

We believe referrals should always be based on what’s best for the patient not financial gain. If you’re being evaluated for cataract surgery, we encourage you to ask questions and be mindful of these referral arrangements.

Choose the surgeon who prioritizes your vision and your well-being not one chosen for someone else’s profit.

Sincerely,
Desert Vision Center
